This policy describes how the Android apps R53 Logger - Flasher
(com.geekopolis.r53logger) and R53 Coding
(com.geekopolis.r53code) handle information. Both are tools for
working with a MINI R53 (W11) vehicle over a USB K+DCAN adapter (and, for the
logger, an optional ESP32 Bluetooth LE wideband bridge).
Summary
We do not run our own servers that collect your personal data. Vehicle and coding data stay on your device unless you choose to share a file. Google Play may process purchase and integrity information when you use paid features, under Google’s policies.
Information the apps store on your device
- Telemetry logs (Logger): CSV logs of engine / sensor data you record (RPM, temperatures, AFR, etc.). Stored in app-private storage.
- ECU / coding backups: Binary or coding backups you create when reading from the car. Stored locally for restore and share.
- Settings: Preferences such as theme, units, poll rates, wideband calibration, and unlock / purchase cache flags.
These files are not uploaded by the apps. You may export or share them yourself (for example via the Android share sheet or Datazap).
Device connections (not sent to us)
- USB serial (K+DCAN): Used only to talk to the vehicle modules. Traffic stays between the phone and the car.
- Bluetooth LE (Logger wideband): Connects to your ESP32 wideband bridge to receive sensor voltage. No cloud relay.
- On older Android versions, location permission may be required by the OS for BLE scanning; the apps do not use GPS for mapping or tracking.
Internet use
Internet access is used only for:
- Google Play Billing — one-time unlock purchases and purchase restoration.
- Google Play Integrity (Logger, when enabled) — the app may request an integrity token from Google and send that token (plus a nonce and package name) to a developer-configured verify endpoint. The token is for app/device integrity, not a profile of your driving.
We do not operate analytics SDKs, ad networks, or crash-reporting backends in these apps. We do not sell personal information.
Accounts and children
The apps do not create accounts with us. Purchases use your Google account through Play. The apps are not directed at children under 13.
Third parties
Google Play services process billing and (where used) integrity attestation according to Google’s Privacy Policy. If you share a log or backup with another app or website, that destination’s policy applies.
Data retention and deletion
Local logs, backups, and settings remain until you delete them in the app, clear the app’s storage, or uninstall. Uninstalling removes app-private data on the device. Play purchase records are retained by Google as part of your Google account.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the “Last updated” date on this page. Continued use of the apps after a change means you accept the updated policy.
